Fishing off Hampton Beach, New Hampshire

Hampton Beach Recreational Activities

Numerous Ways to Break a Sweat or Dive in and Get Wet - There's More Than Simply Swimming!

The list of recreational adventures at Hampton Beach includes land and water activities, ranging from those that involve physical prowess to those that emphasize motorized fun.

When you smell the crisp, stimulating salt air off the ocean and feel the overwhelming warmth of the sun as it reflects off the water, you're going to feel an energy that'll inspire you to engage in new activities. That is one of the things that happens to most people when they find that there's so many great things to do along New Hampshire's seacoast.

On land, there's a boatload of activities, including various water parks simply waiting for you and the kids to enjoy their cool waters. Think you can make par on one of the area's mini-golf courses? Or maybe you'd like to try one of the many fine professional golf courses in the area?

If in-line skating is your thing, then Ocean Boulevard offers plenty of space for a rolling tour of the beach area. Or you can ride a bike or scooter up the coast, checking out the sites, visiting other beaches and stopping for a picnic at one of the numerous state parks.

And for those who love to shop there are plenty of stores along the boulevard selling clothing, souvenirs, beach gear and more.

If you're a boater or sailor, the harbors at Hampton, Seabrook and Rye offer launch facilities. Various charter services provide whale watching, fishing and sight seeing opportunities out of those same harbors.

Go out on a whale watch and get up close and personal with humpbacks, minkes and finbacks, as well as migrating seals and dolphins. Fishing charters regularly catch mackerel, striped bass and inshore cod, while the nearby Isle of Shoals is famous for its "blue fish blitzes" that leave anglers reeling (literally).

If you'd like to go a bit smaller and control your own destiny on the water, surfing, wind surfing, jetskiing and kayaking are all readily available. You can easily lose yourself day after day in these exhilarating experiences.

Oh, yes, and you can also simply swim in the cooling Atlantic waters of Hampton Beach.
